About the Upper Arlington Citizen Police Academy

The Upper Arlington Citizen Police Academy is designed to enhance the community’s understanding and awareness of the many law enforcement and citizen safety activities conducted by the UA Police Division each and every day.

While taking participants on an educational, fun, and often exciting hands-on look behind the scenes of law enforcement work, the Police Division seeks to expand its community outreach activities through the program participants.

Program objectives include:
  • Educate UA citizens on the functions of the Police Division and its programs, policies, and procedures
  • Enable participating residents to meet many of the men and women who proudly serve the Upper Arlington community
  • Enhance communication between citizens and law enforcement
  • Work with previous participants to expand and enhance the Citizen Police Academy

There is one 10-week Citizen Police Academy session annually, from mid-September to mid-November. Students receive about 30 hours of instruction, provided by police officers.

Applications are usually accepted in June and July.

Please contact us for more information on the Citizen Police Academy.
